OET writing format for nurses

You need to prepare for the OET writing sub test by knowing what to anticipate. This lesson reviews the requirements of the OET writing task and gives easy to follow sample format for the referral letters. This lesson has been designed to assist you in getting ready for the OET writing sub test. We will review what you will have to do to write a referral letter that meets the examiner’s expectations.

The writing sub test criterion involves overall task fulfillment, language appropriateness, stimulus comprehension, mechanics and presentation.

You will have 45 minutes total to finish your writing task. There is a referral letter of 180 to 200 words in length. The first aspect that you can do is to have a clear idea of how much writing that is and what is appears on the paper by making use of your own handwriting.

You will be writing your letter during the exam. The last aspect that you want to do on the day of your oet exam is spending time counting the words. There is no penalty for going under or above average word count. Doing so by a huge margin will alert the evaluators that you may not have addressed the assignment in a precise manner.

You will not be allowed to write during the first five minutes of the writing sub test. You may utilize this time to read the stimulus material. Stimulus material is one more term for case notes or background information. You can continue to refer to the stimulus material through your writing process. You will talk more about how to utilize the stimulus material that is given in the later section.
