OET or IELTS

In case you are a nurse wanting to work overseas, then you would be aware that you can have least level of English proficiency which may be exhibited through scores in OET or IELTS tests.
IELTS is a general evaluation language evaluation test which is recognized in the English speaking nations all around the world which includes USA, UK, New Zealand, Canada etc. OET is a language evaluation test which is designed for the healthcare experts who migrate to New Zealand, Australia or Singapore.
IELTS is accepted in many nations than OET. OET is specific to the profession and can be beneficial to you as there are similar situations at work. The examiner plays the role of a patient you have to speak to him or her. IELTS is not a profession but is a generic test of English comprehension and English communication skills. The content can be taken from any place which includes different new journals and professional magazines.
You cannot be familiar with the situations. The first two sections deal with the situations set in daily social contexts and the 3rd and 4th sections deal with the situations set in educational and training contexts.
The time taken for OET takes about 30 to 40 minutes in 2 parts. Part A is a note taking task after a consultation between a patient and a professional. Part B needs you to answer questions after you listen to a lecture.
Reading
IELTS General training involves one hour, three sections and forty questions.
The sections consist of social survival, general reading and workplace survival.
IELTS General training consist of 40 minutes with 2 writing tasks to complete.
Task 1 needs you to respond to a specific situation by writing a letter etc. Task 2 needs you to write an essay. OET is a 45 minute section with one writing task which is specific to the profession for instance writing a medical letter like a referral letter on the provided case notes.
